Schools and colleges
There are now more than 200 teachers in the network representing more than 115 primary and secondary schools, PRUs and colleges throughout the borough. It is free to join and you will receive regular, useful environmental information and news about training, events, resources, funding and projects.
Here's what one secondary teacher said about being part of the ESD NetworK:
"Thank you for your support and encouragement. Keep in touch - it serves to remind me and keep me focused!"
Why not join today?
Take a look at our local action page to see what other schools and groups have been doing. Great for inspiration and for picking up ideas. You can also submit your own experiences - just fill in the short form on the page.
Eco Schools
The Eco School award scheme acts like an environmental management scheme for your school, looking at issues like litter, water and energy use. It aims to put the environment at the centre of your schools ethos, using a whole school approach. The two main things you need to start are support of the Head and a pupil 'Action Team'.
It is free to sign up to and you can do it online. Visit the Eco-Schools Website to find out more.
Plenty of support is available locally for developing Eco Schools, see the boltonesd.org.uk/5.html
